ROK president urges probe into sexual blackmail ring

Chinese news outlet, CGTN, reported on a Republic of Korea (South Korea) investigation into a sexual blackmail ring which has been ordered by President Moon Jae-in.

Republic of Korea President Moon Jae-in called for a full investigation into an online sexual blackmail ring as public outrage peaks through a petition urging authorities to disclose the identity of the ring’s leader.

The online petition gathered over 2 million signatures, and appears to have spurred action from ROK leadership. A report indicated that over 70 women, including 16 underage girls, had fallen victim to the blackmail ring.
