The South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has been released from prison after shooting and killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in 2013. After working as a paralegal, Steenkamp had a successful modelling career, appearing in several magazines and as the face of companies such as Avon cosmetics. She often used her platform, mainly social media, to speak out on women’s rights and domestic abuse.
