Russia President Vladimir Putin held a photo of his father as he marched in a parade to commemorate those who died in the Second World War.
The “Immortal Regiment” parades follow military parades across Russia on its May 9 Victory Day celebrations.
In them, ordinary civilians march down streets carrying banners and photographs of people who died in the Second World War.
This year the Kremlin was also encouraging people to carry photographs of soldiers who had died in Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.
