Tens of thousands of children are at risk from a measles outbreak in London, a leading vaccination expert has warned.

Professor Sir Andrew Pollard, chair of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, said a low uptake of vaccinations means London is at a “critical point” in the outbreak and children could die.

He described the situation as a “wake-up call” for the country.
