Portland Mayor Pete Roper said he has heard a “different story” to what a government minister said this morning about whether migrants will be free to roam the local area.

Mr Roper was referring to roads minister Richard Holden who told Sky News that although the barges where migrants are set to be held “are not a type of prison”, in some areas, people will not be allowed out of the port area where the vessels are moored.
