Police have charged the driver of a Porsche with fleeing the scene of Wednesday’s truck crash that killed four officers, as detectives face a days-long wait to interview the driver of the truck behind the crash.
Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constable Josh Prestney were killed when they were hit by a truck on the Eastern Freeway in Kew.
The officers were standing in the emergency lane when they were killed, as they prepared to impound the Porsche 911 being driven by 41-year-old Melbourne mortgage broker Richard Pusey, which was allegedly travelling at 140 kilometres per hour before it was pulled over.
Police have alleged Mr Pusey, who was not injured in the crash, then took graphic photos of the crash scene, which were posted online, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Facebook has since removed the photos.
