People demonstrating against Benjamin Netanyahu were shot with water cannons by police in violent clashes outside the Israeli leader’s home.
The protest, attended by several thousand Israelis, was against the government’s handling of the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Demonstrators also called for the prime minister to resign for his alleged corruption. Netanyahu was indicted in January for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three cases. He has denied all the charges and accused the media and legal officials of conducting a witch hunt.
Protesters marched from Netanyahu’s official residence to Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, with banners reading ‘Crime Minister’.
34 anti-Bibi protesters were arrested amidst the clashes with police.
