Western powers have protested against the forcible landing of a plane carrying a Belarusian exiled activist which has resulted in his arrest.
Belarus has been accused of faking a bomb threat to force a Lithuania-bound passenger jet to land in Minsk airport to detain the opposition activist, Roman Protasevich.
The US, EU and UN have called for his immediate release and are discussing possible sanctions on Belarus.
