The Chinese mainland reported 27 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, with five from other countries and the rest being locally-transmitted in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. New cases there have been falling in the last five days. China reported no new deaths. Officials said this morning the country has the testing capacity to meet the needs of controlling the pandemic.
