Evacuation orders remain in place for thousands of residents along the Hawkesbury Nepean river system. And the NSW SES isn’t only rescuing people.

Plenty of animals are being saved too in a much needed boost for morale.

Last summer, Western Sydney was the hottest place on earth at 50 degrees.

Now, residents here are enduring a 50 year flooding event in the middle of a pandemic and forced to evacuate en masse.

As the Hawkesbury River rose, residents in several suburbs were issued a flood evacuation warning, told if they don’t get out by 9am they may be trapped.
