North Korea tested its latest intercontinental ballistic missile after the country threatened retaliation against what it says were recent U.S. spy plane incursions over its territory.
The Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile’s (ICBM) “maximum output” of its solid-fuel engine can fly far enough to strike targets anywhere in the U.S. with warheads, an analyst said on Thursday.
The missile flew for 74 minutes to an altitude of 6,000 km (3,728 miles) and a range of 1,000 km (621 miles) said Japan, in what would be the longest-ever flight time for a North Korean missile.
