Malaysia has entered a national two-week lockdown today as it deals with a record surge in COVID-19 cases. Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin caved in to growing calls for large-scale lockdown after daily infections soared into the thousands. While it is hoped this will curb the growing outbreak that is pushing hospitals to breaking point, as Jordyn Butler reports there are fears this lockdown could derail the country’s economic recovery.
