Sky News published this video item, entitled “Mohamed Al Fayed: From sewing machine salesman to billionaire businessman” – below is their description.

People have been sharing their memories of Mohamed Al Fayed today after his death at the age of 94 was announced last night.

Mr Al Fayed was a controversial figure who rose from a poor background in Egypt to become the owner of the Harrods store in London, and Fulham football club.

But after his son Dodi died in a car crash with Princess Diana in 1997 he claimed they were the victims of a plot, orchestrated by the British establishment.
