The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Michael Gove: ‘If people can work from home, they should’ | Coronavirus” – below is their description.
People will be told to start working from home again wherever possible, as part of a series of measures aimed at dampening down the spread of coronavirus, Michael Gove has confirmed. It will exclude people who have to be present in their workplaces, such as in retail or manufacturing, as long as they are Covid secure. This also applies to civil servants, marking another policy U-turn as the Government backs away from the target of getting 80 per cent of civil servants back into Whitehall by the end of this month. Mr Gove also confirmed there would be further measures announced by Boris Johnson during his Commons statement, which is expected around 12:30pm today. He will also be giving an address to the nation at 8pm. Overnight Downing Street confirmed there will be a new 10pm curfew on hospitality venues, which will be restricted to table service. It is thought other restrictions could include an extension to the locations in which face masks must be worn, and greater restrictions on households mixing.
