CGTN published this video item, entitled “Live: Visiting wintering habitat for black-necked cranes in SW China” – below is their description.
The Dashanbao National Black-necked CraneNature Reserve in Zhaotong city, southwest China’s Yunnan Province is a significant wintering habitat and transfer station for migratory birds. Thanks to consistent conservation efforts, the number of the cranes wintering here has kept growing in recent years, and the species, which is under the country’s first-class protection, has been downgraded from “vulnerable” to “near threatened” on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Follow CGTN Reporter Yang Jinghao to know more about the rare species and the conservation efforts. #COP15 #Biodiversity2022
