Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein has announced a snap three-day lockdown for the state’s south after it was revealed a COVID-positive traveller fled hotel quarantine and visited a supermarket in Hobart’s north.
The lockdown will take effect at 6pm AEDT and will end at 6pm on Monday October 18, subject to Public Health Advice.
Mr Gutwein is giving a press conference and says the 31-year-old traveller is “not being cooperative” and the state “can’t continue to wait”.
