In December 2022, the landmark #Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) was adopted through #China’s leadership as the Presidency of COP15, which has drawn a new blueprint for global biodiversity conservation in the next decade and beyond, and has been widely praised by the international community. May 22, 2023, marks the first International Day for Biological Diversity since the adoption of GBF with the theme of “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity,” which aims to promote the implementation of GBF. The International Day for Biological Diversity Event 2023 kicks off in Kunming on May 22. The event is hosted by the Ministry and Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. The Department of Ecology and Environment of Yunnan Province, the People’s Government of Kunming Municipality and Center for Environmental Education and Communication of Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly organize this event. #BiologicalDiversity
