Darrell Brooks, the man who killed six people and injured dozens of others after driving his vehicle into the city of Waukesha’s annual Christmas parade, was found guilty of 76 charges on Wednesday — which included six counts of first-degree intentional homicide.

David Sorenson, the husband of Virginia who was a victim of the attack, spoke after the verdict and said that “justice was served.” He went on to thank those involved in the case and the jury for their verdict.

The verdicts for the counts were read out in court, with Brooks being found guilty for all of them. The first-degree intentional homicide counts each carry a mandatory life sentence in prison. He also faced six counts of hit-and-run causing death, 61 counts of recklessly endangering safety, two counts of bail jumping and one count of misdemeanour battery.
