    Boris Johnson on Thursday said the UK would be an ‘ally’ to the EU, following the confirmation that a Brexit deal had been reached between the two powers. Speaking in a news conference at Downing Street after finalising the deal, the prime minister said the deal had ensured the UK had ‘taken back control’ of its regulations, borders and laws.
