South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Japan embraces outdoor tent saunas as safer alternative during Covid-19 pandemic” – below is their description.
Visitors in Japan have been enjoying an outdoor sauna tent camp near the Atago River in Hamamatsu, a coastal city on Japan’s main island. Operating once a week, the outdoor sauna welcomes about 20 to 30 people each week according to its operator who says it was intended to be a safer alternative to indoor facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The set-up has been attracting local visitors as well as tourists from other cities in Japan and seemed to be on its way to becoming a local hotspot during the winter.
