Jailed Chinese Nobel winner Liu Xiaobo granted medical parole

Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo has been released from prison in China.
The pro-democracy activist was granted medical parole after being diagnosed with terminal liver cancer.

He was jailed in 2009 for organising a petition calling for an end to one-party rule.

Liu was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize the following year.
