South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Huge lump of whale vomit found on Thai beach makes fisherman rich” – below is their description.
Thai fisherman Prachin Phuekphisut found a large lump of whale vomit on the Koh Chang beach where he lives on June 22, 2022. It was authenticated by experts in the capital Bangkok as ambergris, a valuable substance used in the perfume industry. Ambergris is mucilage produced in the sperm whale’s gastrointestinal tract. The whale then vomits the mucilage which solidifies and floats on the surface of the ocean. Dubbed “floating gold”, the rare substance Prachin found is estimated at US$131,000.
