Huge forest fire in Wareham declared a major incident

Conservationists fear wildlife may have been devastated by a fire that ripped through one of the only forests in Britain home to all six native species of reptile.

More than 150 firefighters were called to tackle a vast blaze which consumed around 180 hectares of heath and woodland in Wareham Forest, Dorset, on Monday.
