CGTN published this video item, entitled “How Xinjiang poverty-stricken villages get clean drinking water” – below is their description.
For more than six decades 71-year-old Nasier Maitiniyazi had to carry buckets of water from a river to his home in the Uchkebron Village in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The water was dirty and difficult to transport. Then, in 2018, the Ministry of Water Resources made ensuring safe drinking water for the poor as its top priority. An experienced team was dispatched to the village by the Xinjiang Water Resources Department and after a long search they found a fresh spring in the valley eight kilometers away that now provides potable water to Maitiniyazi and other villagers.
