Hong Kong election: Pro-democracy activists make gains

A new group of young pro-independence activists have won several seats in Hong Kong’s Legislative Council (Legco).

For their part, pro-democracy candidates have kept their one-third veto bloc in the city’s 70-seat legislature.

The vote is the region’s first major election since the so-called Umbrella Revolution protests two years ago.

Al Jazeera’s Rob McBride reports from Hong Kong.
