Hackers demand $70 million ransom in Kaseya cyberattack | DW News

DW News published this video item, entitled “Hackers demand $70 million ransom in Kaseya cyberattack | DW News” – below is their description.

A criminal gang behind the latest massive ransomware attack is demanding 70-million dollars in cryptocurrency. This hack has exploited vulnerabilities in management software made by US IT firm Kaseya – and infected thousands of computers in at least 17 countries. Most of Swedish grocery chain Coop’s 800 stores were forced to close on Friday, after the cyberattack blocked access to its checkouts. Cybersecurity experts are linking the attack to an affiliate of the Russian REvil gang, which is best known for extorting 11-million dollars from meat-packer JBS in May.
