ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Green waste transformed into soil enhancer in biochar pilot program | ABC News” – below is their description.
A new pilot program in Hobart is turning green waste into biochar, a fine-grained charcoal which is made by burning green waste such as grass and weeds, and can be used as a nutrient-rich natural fertiliser.
The trial in collaboration with the Southern Tasmanian Councils Authority and Hobart City Council is being run by Aboriginal-owned enterprise Heal Country which promotes land regeneration practices.
