Global conference seeking to raise $8bn for coronavirus vaccine

The search for a COVID-19 vaccine and treatment has got a big boost.
Leaders from the European Union and other nations have pledged $8bn for research.
But the United States, where nearly 70,000 people have died, did not participate in the video conference that included presidents, prime ministers, health officials and donors.
