In the last year before François Hollande’s up for reelection, the Socialist president is trying to push through his labour reform, opting to brave strikes and the wrath of many in his own left-wing camp. Among those in the street this Wednesday, student unions aligned with his own party. Is the man who campaigned in 2012 on a tax-the-rich-and-the-banks platform right to rule as a reformist social-democrat? Does the bill go too far or not enough? And could this affect his reelection chances?
