Lee Castleton was one of the first subpostmasters to suffer at the hands of the Post Office, when the accounts at his branch in East Yorkshire showed a £25,000 shortfall.

The fiasco led to him being made bankrupt by the Post Office.

It comes after the Prime Minister said a new law will be introduced so people wrongly convicted in the Horizon scandal are “swiftly exonerated and compensated”.
