Global News published this video item, entitled “First grain ship from Ukraine arrives in Turkey under deal with Russia” – below is their description.

The first of the ships to leave Ukraine under a deal with Russia to unblock grain supplies and stave off a potential global food crisis arrived at its destination in Turkey on Monday. The Turkey-flagged Polarnet docked at Derince port in the Gulf of Izmit after setting off from Chornomorsk on Aug. 5 laden with 12,000 tons of corn.

The Turkish captain of a ship transporting grain from Ukraine described on Monday the dangerous journey through the Black Sea after the grain carrier finally docked at a Turkish port.

Plus, two more ships, carrying corn and soybeans, departed from the Ukrainian Black Sea ports on Monday, Turkey and Ukraine said, taking the total to ten since the first ship sailed last week under a deal with Russia to unblock Ukrainian grain exports.

A total of 12 ships have now been authorized to sail under the grain deal between Ukraine and Russia, which was brokered by Turkey and the United Nations.
