Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top infectious diseases expert of the U.S., returned to the White House press briefings on the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday. Dr. Fauci was sidelined by Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump in recent months for publicly opposing his cavalier and unscientific response to the deadly pandemic. Fauci said that the responsibility Biden has entrusted in him gave him “somewhat of a liberating feeling,” compared to his experience serving under Trump.
