The families of Spanish fishermen, who were on board the “Villa de Pitanxo” fishing boat which sank near the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador on Tuesday waited for news Wednesday as search and rescue efforts continued.
According to officials, three people had been rescued and the bodies of 10 had been found so far.
There are 11 people still missing as of this reporting.
“There are no words to describe this, it is a very painful situation we are going through,” the brother and uncle of some of the missing fishermen, who did not give his name, told reporters.
Officials said difficult weather conditions have hindered search operations, but a Spanish government official said the number of rescue vessels was being increased.
