For more:
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Palestine conflict, social media has been flooded with fake news and misinformation.
Last week, an Israeli TV reporter said she’d been told Hamas fighters decapitating babies near Gaza, despite the Israeli military saying it had no evidence of such a crime.
Hamas described the news as completely fabricated, and CNN said it “could not independently verify” the report. However, the news channel still quoted Netanyahu’s spokesperson’s remarks on it.
Helin Sari Ertem, an associate professor of international relations at Istanbul Medeniyet University, shares her take on it with CGTN.
