Chinese archaeologists have launched an excavation of six newly-discovered pits at the prehistoric Sanxingdui Ruins in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The Sanxingdui Ruins, which cover an area of 12 square kilometers, is the widest-ranging and most culturally-valuable site of the ancient Shu Kingdom so far discovered in southwest China.
