ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Early Tas election avoided as former attorney-general hits out at ‘threatening letter’ | ABC News” – below is their description.
Former Liberal MP and attorney-general Elise Archer says she will quit Tasmania’s parliament, following what she calls a “threatening” ultimatum to reach a decision.
Ms Archer’s resignation will trigger a recount in her seat that will cause it to be filled by another Liberal candidate, keeping the minority government alive.
The premier is expected to ask the governor to prorogue parliament — to delay it from sitting until the seat can be filled and enough Liberal votes guaranteed.
