Angela Merkel and François Hollande held a Franco-German summit this Thursday in Metz. The two countries have often been at odds over diverging fiscal policies, but recently the French president chastised Angela Merkel for going rogue when she welcomed the migrants last summer. As Europe tries to reform its asylum policy and enforce a deal to deport migrants to Turkey, will the solution come from the Franco-German couple, the whole of the EU or will everyone go their own way?
