Former real estate executive, Matthew Ramsay, accused of stabbing his best friend’s wife, Helen Coulston, is set to be released on bail.

After he was arrested, Mr Ramsay allegedly told police he ‘didn’t mean to hurt’ Ms Coulston, and that he ‘just wanted to scare her.’

Waverly Court today heard Matthew Ramsay had taken 120 milligrams of the prescription drug Valium which he was using to treat an alcohol addiction. He has been granted strict conditional bail and will be released from Parklea Correctional Centre on Monday. From there, his cousin will take him to a rehabilitation facility in Port Stephens, where he will remain for treatment.
