US President Donald Trump spoke to the media in Washington DC amid violent protests and unrest in the city.
Taking no questions from reporters, Mr. Trump said he urged state governors to deploy the entirety of the national guard to ‘dominate’ protests raging throughout the United States, saying if they refused, he would deploy ‘civilian and military’ federal assets to put down demonstrations.
He also labelled the unrest as ‘acts of domestic terror’, and instigated a curfew in Washington DC, backed up by thousands of ‘heavily armed’ police and military personnel.
