Schools could reopen before the coronavirus tracking app has launched, Dominic Raab has conceded.
The Government had been planning to roll out the app, which is currently being piloted in the Isle of Wight, by the middle of May. It is a key part of the “track and trace” programme, which underpins the Prime Minister’s roadmap out of lockdown.
But asked if the app will be ready in time for 1 June, when schools and shops start to reopen, the Foreign Secretary could only confirm it was the intention to roll it out “in the weeks ahead”.
