Global News published this video item, entitled “Dogs can detect COVID, studies show. Why aren’t they widely used for testing?” – below is their description.
Studies over the past few years have shown dogs are not only effective at testing for COVID-19 but also can be faster than the current tests used by many countries.
While recent research that collected a number of peer-reviewed studies asserts they’re more efficient, fast, and potentially less expensive, they’re still only used by a small number of groups such as some hospitals, airports, and other facilities.
As Sean Previl reports, while they may not be widely used, medical professionals say they can still be a tool for helping find COVID-19 and, potentially, other viruses and diseases.
