Kyrgyzstan’s leader is calling for a ceasefire with Tajikistan announced on Saturday to be respected as displaced people have begun to return home.
A violent dispute over a reservoir that both countries claim as their own has killed almost 40 people in the last week.
It is the heaviest fighting seen along the disputed border of the former Soviet republics.
