Democrats see major victory as US Senate passes $369 billion climate bill

Global News published this video item, entitled “Democrats see major victory as US Senate passes $369 billion climate bill” – below is their description.

There are signs Washington is getting more serious about climate change, after the U.S. Senate voted to pass long-sought legislation that will pour billions of dollars into clean energy.

After a marathon voting session that lasted nearly 24 hours, the Senate finally approved the new Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Vice-President Kamala Harris had to break a 50-50 tie to pass the legislation, a dramatically smaller version of President Joe Biden’s signature $2-trillion climate and social spending package.

Jackson Proskow explains why this could be a big win for the Biden administration.
