A large population in Delhi uses the city buses daily to commute for work or studies. For the past few months, they are being greeted by a new sight- that of a woman driving a bus. Till very recently, all bus drivers in the city used to be men — about 15000 of them in total who are employed in the biggest transport operator of Delhi. Now, following an initiative by the Delhi government, women are being recruited to handle the heavy vehicles. Manira Chaudhary from Delhi spoke to one such woman driver.
