Yet as FRANCE 24 correspondent Dave Keating explains, Cyprus has made sanctions on Belarus conditional on the bloc slapping sanctions on Turkey for violating its territorial waters.

Another nearly 4% of the island’s area is covered by a UN buffer zone.
