Covid-19: the impact of vaccine mandates on sports and the controversy that followed

Global News published this video item, entitled “COVID-19: The impact of vaccine mandates on sports and the controversy that followed” – below is their description.

After more than two years of being in place, Canada’s COVID-19 border rules are coming to an end, the federal government announced Monday.

While this news will most certainly help travellers who have been stuck in long airport or land border lines, the impact will also help professional sports leagues return to normal with new NHL and NBA seasons right around the corner.

“It’s really good to see — come back from a normal summer again and hopefully, we get through this winter and we have a little bit of back to normal,” Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujiri said Monday.

Global News’ Steve Autio takes a look back at the impact of vaccine mandates on pro sports and the controversy that followed.
