World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and other WHO officials provided an update on the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday.
On Monday, WHO emergencies program technical lead, Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, participated in a virtual session on COVID-19 effects on mental health with Dévora Kestel, the director of Mental Health and Substance Use at the organization’s headquarters in Geneva.
Van Kerkhove stressed on the importance of keeping strong human relations and finding a routine during times of physical distancing.
Nearly 24 million cases of COVID-19 around the world have been reported to the WHO, with many countries facing second waves of infection.
