Global News published this video item, entitled “Coronavirus: Manitoba considers imposing curfew as Premier warns province that “COVID is beating us”” – below is their description.
The province of Manitoba is considering a curfew to help drive down the province’s coronavirus numbers. Premier Brian Pallister made the announcement Monday and said a curfew is on the table. Pallister said that while the government has “taken action” to fight the virus, it’s up to Manitobans to help each other as well. Manitoba’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin said that the province’s goal is to avoid the re-imposition of a mandatory lockdown, saying the lessons learned over the course of the pandemic has allowed for a “more nuanced” approach than a blanket lockdown. Manitoba is dealing with five more deaths and 241 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the province reported Monday, prompting Manitoba health officials to bring down more health orders.
