“If you don’t pay rent for 90 days, you cannot be evicted,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says when asked about a possible rent freeze during the #CoronaLockdown #Coronavirus #Cuomo #Covid19 #NewYork #CoronavirusNYC
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday that the state has seen a “significant” increase in deaths as a result of COVID-19 as New York scrambles to secure enough ventilators, hospital beds and protective equipment to deal with the coronavirus crisis.
Cuomo also announced a two-week extension of school closures until mid-April. Schools were previously slated to re-open on April 1st.
“This is an invisible beast. It is an insidious beast,” he said, speaking to an audience of U.S. Army National Guard troops in what will become a makeshift hospital at the Javits Center in Manhattan. “The mission is to save lives. That’s what you’re doing. The rescue mission is to save lives. And as hard as we work, we’re not going to be able to save everyone.”
