Clean-Up Operation Underway After Leeds United Fans’ Title Celebrations in City Centre

A cleanup operation was underway in the city center of Leeds, England, on July 20 after thousands of Leeds United supporters celebrated their side’s Championship title win the previous day.

Video filmed early that morning showed large amounts of litter in the square and surrounding roads, made up of beer cans, boxes, and plastic bags.
Fans had gathered on July 19 to celebrate their team’s title win and promotion to the Premier League, coinciding with Leeds’ victory over Derby County.

Speaking after walking through Millennium Square, uploader @CarlyWarlyy said: “If only people were as respectful of their winning team’s city as they are of the team. This is disgusting. There are bins literally everywhere in the city center. Shame on you all who did this!!” (via @Storyful News )
